Sorry folks, I won't be at the Fremont Market this week because I've come down with a wicked cold. If you still need Xmas jewelry, please visit my online store or make an appointment to shop next week. Thanks!

No Fremont Market on November 2, but...
I will be at the Shop n' Schmooze at Stroum JCC on Thursday, November 6th. AND I will be back in Fremont for your regular scheduled shopping pleasure on November 9th. Remember that this week we turn our clocks back, so the Sunday market hours will change - starting at 10 am and ending at 4 pm (because it starts to get dark so early!).

Fremont Market - Sunday, June 15th

It's a few days out, but there is a good chance for another semi-sunny Sunday. I'll be at the Fremont Market again (www.fremontmarket.com/fremont for directions) with a return of some old favorites. I've just completed another couple pairs of naturally shaped Agate slice earrings in gold and silver. Each pair is unique due to the stone shape, waves of color and cut. Prices start at just $10 per pair, so stop by and try some on...

Instead of driving all the way to the coast this weekend to play, save the gas money, stay home and have fun at the Fremont Sunday Market! (It's right next to PCC in Fremont - visit the Market website for a map http://www.fremontmarket.com/fremont/). I've been a busy jewelry-making bee this week and will have lots of new goodies. Stop by and play jewelry!

Visit me at the Fremont Flea Market - Sunday, May 25th

It might be raining outside, but it'll be reasonably dry in my tent so I'll be at the Fremont Flea Market this Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm. I have lots of new fun jewelry and have replenished my stock of vintage bling rings after the run on them at the U District Street Fair last week. (A big thanks to everyone who visited me there despite the 90 degree heat on Saturday!)

Seattle Green Fest April 12th and 13th!
I won't be at the Fremont Sunday Market this week. Instead I'll be at the Seattle Green Fest at the Convention Center sponsored by Co-op America and Global Exchange. Come visit me at the Fair Trade Sports booth where I'll be hanging out with founder Scott James. Scott says he'll be speaking a couple of times during the conference including:
Saturday, April 12, 1PM: Sweat-Free Seattle Campaign Join myself and Global Exchange’s Valerie Orth and Elizabeth Swager to discuss how your city or town can adopt laws that prohibit local institutions from purchasing goods made in sweatshops. Together, we can create a substantial market for goods made by workers who get paid a living wage, are treated with dignity and respect, and have a voice on the job.
Saturday, April 12, 5PM: Eco-Certified Fair Trade Sports Come hear how we can kick sweatshops off the playing fields of our schools and parks with eco-certified Fair Trade sports balls and uniforms.
Sunday, April 13, 2PM: Fully Committed Fair Trade Businesses What makes a business Fair Trade? Join me to hear how the Fair Trade Federation ensures local business practices have a positive impact on producers a world away.
Green Fest shows off the latest in sweatshop-free clothing, organic beer and wine, recycled products, Fair Trade, vegetarian cuisine, renewable energy and more. It will be a weekend full of speakers, 300 business exhibitors, and even a clothing swap! With admission to Green Festival you will also be offered a FREE Co-op America membership. New Jewelry, New Look - Fremont Sunday Market March 16

Come visit Orange Box at the Fremont Sunday Market this week from 10 am to 4 pm. I have loads of new jewelry to celebrate spring including some new fine silver pieces. Fine silver is 99.9% silver that does not contain any other trace metals. It doesn't tarnish as easily as sterling silver and is slightly softer. Most commercially available silver is .925 sterling silver which is an alloy. This means it typically has a fine silver content of 92.5% and a copper content of 7.5%. While the copper adds strength to the jewelry it is also what causes sterling silver to tarnish more quickly and easily.
